From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, I’m MasterRayvis. You can simply call me Rayvis if you like. I’m still fairly new to Wikipedia. I’ve only been here since October 2025. I only recently started becoming active again. I currently have been mainly making pages about notable Andor characters since I’m a huge fan of the show. I’m also a Eurovision fan so you might also see me editing Eurovision related articles during the National Final season and near or during Eurovision week itself.

I don't consider myself a particularly good writer in English and my native language, but I'm hoping after some time here on Wikipedia I can improve. If you have any problems or feedback regarding my contributions, please feel free to talk to me.

Below I provide list of articles I've created. Of course please feel free to improve the articles yourself if you want. It’s not like I own them.

These are articles I’ve created so far

Goals

Increase and improve coverage about notable Star Wars topics on Wikipedia

[edit]

This is why I'm active on Wikipedia to begin with. I was surprised to learn that the only Andor characters that had articles were Cassian Andor and Luthen Rael. This led me to create the Dedra Meero article, which is the first article I made. As you can see, I later made articles about a few other characters. I have been focusing on making the articles exist first before making them into quality articles. I've done this to confirm the notability of the topic and potentially having other editors help improve the article. I always submit my drafts through the AfC. I think I'm currently fat and satisfied with the amount of articles I've created, I'll now start to focus on quality over quantity.

Improve the Dedra Meero article

[edit]

I love the character Dedra Meero. She's one of my favourite characters from Andor. Since she is my first article and a character I love, I want to significantly improve the article in the future. Dedra will be the main focus going forward once I have the time and motivation. Update: I'm currently satisfied with how the article is in its current state, but I will still come back to it over time and improve it.

We Happy Few

[edit]

I'm currently debating if I should improve the We Happy Few article. I'm already doing research on the topic to gain additional reliable sources. I'll update this section if I decide to commit to this.

Update: I think I've decided to improve the article. I'm still mainly trying to gain more sources currently.

Why not go to Wookieepedia?

[edit]

Note: I'll probably remove this section when I've branched out to other topics (probably improving video game related articles). Enjoy it while it lasts.

Now you might be wondering why I'm editing here on Wikipedia instead of Wookieepedia. There are a few reasons for this that are listed below, but I also wanted to address something else. I feel like some editors that perhaps specialise in more niche fictional topics can get a bad reputation here on Wikipedia, many dismissing their work as fancruft. But some editors write passionately about real notable topics and have understood what Wikipedia's purpose is. That is to say, don't dismiss editors contributions based off the fact that they like to focus on fictional topics.

1: Wookieepedia already has good coverage

[edit]

Now, yes, obviously, there is room for improvement on Wookieepedia, but there's already on article an basically everything due to the Wiki not having Wikipedia's "strict" notability. Here on Wikipedia, however, there are so many notable topics that have no articles nor get mentioned anywhere else. These topics deserve to have coverage here on Wikipedia and more valuble knowledge is spread to a larger audience.

2: I care more about real-world coverage

[edit]

This is a big one. I feel like real-world coverage is the thing that matters. I don't want to be writing obscure lore or summarising stories. When I write articles, the part I dislike the most is summarising the story. I'd rather go looking for more sources to expand the reception or development sections for example. And I don't think that I'm that good at writing them either. On Wookieepedia, the focus is on in-universe details, and only a small portion being a real-world section.

3: I don't solely want to edit Star Wars topics

[edit]

I might not be as big of a Star Wars fan as you think. Yes, I do love Star Wars of course, but nowadays, it's mainly due to the masterpiece that is Andor, reigniting my love for the franchise. One day I'll start to get bored when writing about Star Wars, and I'll search for something new here on Wikipedia.
