Curriculum for Understanding
editUniversity Liggett School recently announced changes to its curriculum to promote "independent" thinking and learning in the school. According to Healy, the head of the school, the newer curriculum, which he calls the "Curriculum for Understanding," is a work in progress that focuses on giving students "greater control of their intellectual destiny."[2] Examples of these changes in the curriculum include the creation of the Research and Discovery course for high school freshmen, and the creation of new "in-depth" electives on more specific topics for juniors and seniors.[2]
