Holy Hounds an an American garage rock band, formed in 2007 in Battle Creek, Michigan. The group consists of songwriter Mat Dilliner (vocals, guitars, & keys) and Steve Brewer (percussion & vocals).
Holy Hounds have independently released three EPs, 1 full length, and a handful of singles. On 2007's Murder City Limits, the band "weaves tales of woe and misfortune to the tune of Tom Waits-style gritty folk-blues. It’s a sound caught somewhere between the Great Depression-era music of the Dust Bowl and the grainy, black-and-white horror flicks of the 1940s."[1]
In 2010, the band released an internet-only EP entitled the Harmonia and featured 5 demo tracks from their full-length self-titled record.[2]
In April, 2010, the band entered Crafted Recording Studios in Arcadia, CA their full-length self-titled album with producer / engineer David Dominguez (Weezer, Guns N' Roses, Papa Roach, Staind). They will be recorded 10 songs for the album that was finally released in 2012.[3]
Holy Hounds have also found themselves opening for other notable artists such as Frank Turner, Dawes, Langhorne Slim, Murder by Death, Fake Problems, and the legendary Dex Romweber Duo (ex-Flat Duo Jets), and many more.
