Leda Vannaclip Pty Ltd is an Australian company based in Tuggerah NSW. The company manufactures perimeter security equipment such as bollards, security gates, turnstiles and fencing. Leda also designs and manufactures bicycle parking which is used in transport systems.

History

The company was founded in 1995 by David Matthews. Initially the company started with the SecurapostTM bollard and one employee. Growth of the company meant it was able to acquire the Melbourne based company Vannaclip Australia Pty Ltd in 2006 which doubled the group in both turnover and staff. There are currently 60 staff and operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Director Mr David Matthews was previously a director of the Sydney based precast concrete business CI&D from 1971 to 1987. CI&D was later sold to Icon Industries Of Vistoria. Mr Matthews also started The Slate Centre in 1976 which he sold in 1984. In 1987 Mr Matthews started the Polymer concrete business Polycrete Australia Pty Ltd which was later purchased by Aco in 1994 to become Aco Polycrete.

Technology

Some of Leda's products are impact rated for anti-terror and ram-raiding applications. In 2008 a series of vehicle impact tests was undertaken at the Transport Research Lab in the UK to meet the PAS68 UK standard. The barrier mix technology was designed to delay cutting which a method of attack used frequently in ATM thefts.

Leda also manufactures and installs gates including an Australian made Bifold gate which was designed originally in Europe and used in area's with limited space. Modular snap together gates and one of Australia's largest gates at 35 metres span are also made by the company.

Electromechanical Retractable bollards based on the patented Tri-shaft design are used on sites where multiple bollards need to be raised in 2 seconds.
