Maulana Syed Lutfullah Rahmani was the stalwart and geniuspersonality of Brish India who was not only prominent spiritual guide of his age, rather aprolic writer, eminent educaonist and great warrior of Islam. Maulana Lutfullah possessedmany disnct qualies and served in various elds. On one hand, he was great spiritualmentor of scores of Muslims from across the country, while on the other hand Rahmani's father Muhammad Ali Mungeri was among the founding figures of Nadwatul Ulama that founded Darul Uloom in Lucknow, which aimed atmaintaining balance between the old tradional and the modern educaon systems. Alongwith preaching and propagang Islam through guiding people towards the straight path of Islam, Rahmani fullled dues as a warrior of Islam and defended Islam . As he fought on these fronts as with his tongue and acon, he pickedup pen also and authored scores of books and treases on various subjects spanning fromreligion, theology, comparave study of religions to deviant sects and thoughts

Sayyid Lutfullah Rahmani engaged himself in the freedom struggle of India and was jailed twice by the British for these activities. He used the Khanquah very effectively to support the freedom struggle in addition to taking a pledge of reformation from the people, advising people to follow the straight path and working tirelessly to his last breath for the Ummah and the humanity at large.
Since the Independence, to guide the Government and all of its branches, Khanquah Rahmani has been used as a platform for protecting various rights and liberties as promised and guaranteed by the constitution; along with being the voice for social justice, education and public health.
Rahmani's father Muhammad Ali Mungeri was among the founding figures of Nadwatul Ulama. [2] Rahmani's father Sayyid Muhammad Ali Mungeri was also an Islamic scholar. [2]

After completing his primary education in Munger, Rahmani studied Arabic grammar, syntax and logic . He took admission at Nadwatul Ulama for his further studies. he moved to Darul Uloom Deoband where he studied Sahih Bukhari. He graduated from the Darul Uloom
In 1935, Abul Muhasin Muhammad Sajjad founded the Muslim Independent Party and Rahmani was appointed as its member. Through it, he was elected as a member of Bihar.[1] He was appointed as the Sajjada Nashin of Khanqah-e-Rahmani, Munger in and a member of the legislative council of Darul Uloom Deoband , a post he served until his death.[3][1],In, he participated in the World Muslim Congress as delegate of India.[3]
