Early Life

Campbell was born in Albany, NY, and lived in Hawaii and Nevada before relocating to Palo Alto, California in the sixth grade. Campbell began playing violin at a young age, studying the Suzuki method at age three.[1] She made her solo debut with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra when she was eight years old, and began began preparatory violin studies with Zaven Melikian at San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the sixth grade. During high school, Campbell enrolled in the Young Artist Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with violin teachers, David Cerone and Donald Weilerstein. In 1998, she was selected as a Presidential Scholar in the arts, and was the only classical musician in that year's group.[2]

After attending college at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Campbell transferred to Stanford University, where she worked with violin instructor Gennady Kleyman, and majored in computer programming, logic, linguistics, and psychology. In 2004, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BS in Symbolic Systems and an MA in Sociology.[3]

Campbell has been featured onstage with artists such as Garth Brooks, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Andrea Boccelli, Chris Botti, The Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Justin Timberlake, Herbie Hancock, TI, Alicia Keys, Sarah McLachlan, Rod Stewart, Rihanna, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie, Natalie Cole, John Mayer, Jamie Foxx, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Carlos Santana, John Legend and Gnarls Barkley. She has performed as a featured soloist with The San Francisco Symphony, The Vancouver Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony, and The Boston Pops. She is currently the first violinist with the Los Angeles based Sonus Quartet.[1][4]

Campbell is active as a session musician in Los Angeles, and has recorded with artists Barbra Streisand, Seal, Josh Groban, Diana Krall and Beyonce.[4]

TV and Film

Campbell has performed on recent film scores such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Her TV appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Grammy Awards, American Idol, Dr. Phil, The Ellen Degeneres Show, The MTV Movie Awards, The People's Choice Awards, The American Music Awards, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Young and the Restless, and The Tyra Banks Show.[4]
