Navid Nikbakht (born Tehran 1970) is a UK based composer, musician and guitarist. He began playing guitar at 14 and attended Berklee College of Music in the early ‘90s.
In 2000, Nikbakht recorded “Synesthesia” (Divan Music) with prominent Canadian guitarist and composer Dave Martone (Steve Morse, Jennifer Batten, Joe Satriani, Billy Sheehan, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe etc). Nikbakht also composed and recorded the soundtrack to documentary “Zan” in 2004.
In 2009, Nikbakht formed “Navid&Teel” with long time collaborator Kevin Teel (Cerys Mattews, Holly Williams, Matthew Ryan, Bobby Bare Jr., Tanya Tucker etc). Their first release “Coup d’état” was produced and arranged by renowned Producer/drummer/arranger Mason Neely (Cerys Matthews, Damien Jurado, Diane Birch, Hayley Westenra, Rosie Thomas, Leigh Nash, The Quiet Ones etc).
