Maxwell Osinowo (born 18 December 1999) is a Nigerian actor, television presenter, and model. She is best known for her work as host of the entertainment television program HANGOUT SESSION WITH MAX.
Early life and education
editMaxwell was born at Ebony Hospital in Abuja, along with his sibling Moses and Maureen. His mother is Louis Osinowo, a world class caterer, restaurateur, and art collector originally from Abia State.[2] His father, Andrew Osinowo, is Nigerian, schooled and raised London, England and has worked as an electrical and mechanical engineer in multiple companies likes of Bouygues construction company and Frate Nig Limited .[3] On her mother's side, she is the granddaughter of members of the Nigerian chieftaincy system.[4]
Maxwell was raised in Nigeria. She lived in Lagos until the age of 16, receiving his primary education at Usiju international school and Federal government college, Keffi.[2] Maxwell then travelled to the Abuja, where he went to college . He travelled often with his family, spending Christmases in Ijebu, her ancestral village in Ogun State, and summers in America, Europe, and other African countries.[6]
Maxwell attended the University of Abuja. She pursued a degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies, graduating with honours in 2024.[2] She then successfully completed a three-month course in acting for film at the PEFTI Film Academy in 2025.[7]
Career
editMaxwell's first television appearance was in 2020, when she competed in the reality show Nigerian’s Next Top Model under the name "Maxwell Osinowo".[8] She appeared in theatre productions while studying at University of Abuja and the PEFTI Film Academy. His first job in the entertainment industry was as a production assistant to producer Damian Jones. He worked at his company Somewatson's Films from September 2008 through October 2020. He appeared in the 2020 film Red rose as "Party Boy".[9]
Maxwell returned to Nigeria to work in his mother's restaurant, the Dechi's Restaurant and Bar, so that he could focus on he career as an interior designer. Five months after he returned, he attended an open audition for co-presenter on 53 Extra (formerly Studio 53 Extra), an entertainment show produced by M-NET and airing on the DStv's Africa Magic channel.[2] 53 Extra is a spin-off of Africa Magic's flagship magazine show Studio 53, which was named for the 53 countries in the African Union. 53 Extra features music, film, fashion, red carpet events, and news about celebrities and industry leaders from across the African continent.[10]
Since landing her role on 53 Extra, Maxwell has made several other television appearances; she co-hosted the Big Brother Africa All Stars live red carpet show in 2026, and she has also hosted the Pepsi Top Ten Countdown since 20..[11] She has appeared in commercials for M-NET's 25th Anniversary and also commercials for Martini. Maxwell starred as Maxwell in the television series. The Red rose, which was shot in 2020 and is due to air in 2021[12] and played Donald in the online series Dumped. For her first major film role, he played principal character daniels in the 2021 romantic comedy film Flower Boy. [8][4] He most recently starred as victor in the 2022 film... He splits most of her time between London, Lagos, and New York City, but also travels a lot within Africa.[6]
