Shalina Clarke was born in Evanston, IL on August 8, 1988. In high school Shalina earned All-American honors and assisted the Evanston girls track team win four state championships. Independently, Shalina placed first in the 300 meter hurdles her freshman through senior year of high school. She also took state titles in the 100 meter hurdles, 100 meter dash, and 200 meter dash. Ranked as one of the top hurdlers in the country upon entering college she continues to improve.
