My name is Matthew Blanchard, and I'm currently a student at Louisiana State University pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but I didn't grow up in a LSU "super-fan" household like many of Baton Rouge's inhabitants. I am a member of the Tiger Band as a percussionist; in Fall 2014 I played snare drum and for the Fall 2015 season I will be playing bass drum. I'm a very academically motivated person and I intend on going to a top-tier grad school for Chemistry/Chemical Engineering. Some of my hobbies are bowling, golf, electric guitar, and reading. I'm a member of LSU's Society of Peer Mentors and the Louisiana Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. This semester I'm taking a host of difficult Chemical Engineering courses. I'm looking forward to the challenge but fear for my body's sleep schedule.
