Dr. Miloslav Bozdech was born in January 23, 1965 in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, presently known as Czech Republic. He is a fifth generation physician. Parents: Dr. Lumir Bozdech and Eva Bozdech. Paternal grandfather Leopold Bozdech and great grandfather Vaclav Bozdech were also physicians. Miloslav Bozdech graduated from the University of Calgary with a BSc in Biology in June 1988. He married Inez Thomas, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He served as a Constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police from June 1088 to August 1992, at which time his daughter Tannys Marianne Eva Bozdech was born. He completed his medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1996 and obtained a specialty designation in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in July of 2001. He had practiced medicine in Grande Prairie and Red Deer Alberta, Canada.

His accomplisments include bringing to the attention of the Alberta Government the medical staff and resource shortage in the northern rural Alberta population leading to various incentives and programs to attract and retain physicians in the north with the aid of Alberta Medical Association. He had served as a chief of surgery in Grande Prairie Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in 2006 and as a Regional Medical Association President from February 2006 to Februaru 2012, representing medical staff in the Peace Country Health Region.
