Apollo Temple

Apollo Temple is a prominence in eastern Grand Canyon located northeast of the south flowing Colorado River.

The flat surface bottom of []Apollo Temple]] is a distinct geologic formation in Grand Canyon and elsewhere. It is called the Great Unconformity a billion+ year event of erosion. The cliff below Apollo sitting on the Great Unconformity, is a mostly horizontal highly resistant Tapeats Sandstone that occurs in west, central, and east Grand Canyon.
