Nike 6.0 is an innovative brand branch from sportswear and equipment company, Nike Inc. One of Nike's most recent line additions, Nike 6.0 formed to adapt to the need in today's action sports scene. Nike 6.0 products have created specialization for sports that other companies have not. It’s designed for, and represented by, the most talented snowboarders, surfers, BMXers, motocrossers, wakeboarders and skiers of the up and coming action sports generation [1]

History

Nike was formed in 1964 by the Head coach of University of Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman and one of his teams runners, Phil Knight. Originally Nike operated under the name Blue Ribbon Sports before adopting it's current name in 1971.Since the beginning Nike has developed innovative solutions for footwear that has revolutionized the market. Major innovations include the Waffle sole, Air Max cushioning, Nike Shox, and Nike ID just to name a few. Nike has created sub brands throughout the years to provide further innovative solutions to more specific markets. The 6.0 sub brand is one of those brands created to target the world of actions sports. Some of their other sub brands include Nike NYX and Nike SB, which specialize in skateboarding shoes.

Nike 6.0 targets action sports enthusiast. The Nike 6.0 brand defines innovation and embodies the creativity of youth. Nike 6.0 delivers footwear and apparel to support the new generation of athletes who are changing the world of action sports [1] .Action sports enthustiast have many places to grab their Nike 6.0 gear. Nike 6.0 products are available for sale on their website. Other online stores that carry large collections of Nike 6.0 products is Eastbay[2] , Zappos[3], and Tillys[4]. Comercial stores including Zumies, Pac-Sun, and Journeys also carry 6.0 products. The 6.0 brand started solely in footwear but has started to spread their innovative design to apparel and other products as well. One of their newest creations is their product called the H20ody.[5] The h20ody is a water repellent hooded sweatshirt that helps their action sports users brave the elements of bad weather.

Teams

In addition to developing products, Nike 6.0 sponsors competitive extreme sports teams. Currently Nike has teams competing in Surf, Snow, BMX, Moto, Wake, and Ski. These teams compete in prestigious events such as the X-games and others around the world. Team members are from the United States as well as other countries from around the world.
