I am not new to editing Wikipedia, and hence am familiar with editing conventions, markup, Wikipedia policies and guidelines, and indeed far too much with administravia. For a number of years (since about 2003)—under a different username—I was one of the top couple thousand editors (maybe in top 1000 at some points), and edited hundreds of articles, over tens of thousands of individual edits. Multiple featured articles, good articles, etc. were among those on which I was a major contributor.
Around the middle of 2010, I became so completely disgusted by Wikipedia's deletionist trend—both large-scale blanking of content to turn articles into stubs, and outright deletion of worthwhile articles—that I stopped editing, except for an occasional anonymous fix to a typo or something similarly small. I may start editing again in greater earnestness with this account, but strongly intend to stay out of administrative pages and everything other than article content, to the very greatest degree possible.
