GlobalGirl Media is a global nonprofit organization that trains young women to be citizen journalists.
Through mentoring, training and access to a worldwide network of partners, GlobalGirl Media uses new digital media to empower young women. There are currently seven locations: United Kingdom, South Africa, Morocco, Kosovo, Chicago,[1] Los Angeles, and the Bay Area of California.[2]
History
editThey were founded by Amie Williams. [3] They are partners with Women's eNews.[4]
They won a $100,000 grant from NBC4 21st Century Solutions.[5] They won a grant from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.[6]
