Spirit of the Andes Bolivia was founded in 1994 in La Paz Bolivia under the auspices of UNICEF Bolivia. The organization has always been based on grassroots knitting mother's clubs organized on democratic principles. The organization has trained over 2000 knitters who knit baby clothing in Alapaca, Organic Cotton and Angora for clients in the UK, USA, Japan and Canada.
