Mantera The Movie is first Malaysian sci-fi movie to attain international stature. The movie is jointly produced by Flare Studios Sdn.Bhd and FINAS with international production partners, Spacetoon Media Group and will be distributed worldwide.The film is expected to be released in Malaysia,Dubai and Russia in October 2010.
Directed by Mohd Aliyar Alikuthy with script by the Executive Producers, Miza Mohamad, Khairul Anuar Md Arif and Azmer Shazly Norazhar, the movie combines local and international talents, as well as introducing new talents of both local and internationl.
PLOT
editWeston Tech,is a technology company based in Moscow, Russia. The owner, Sam Weston,saw the prospect in developing “Powered Exo-Robotic Suit” for military purposes and intends to make a huge profit from it. He made a deal with the Republic of Gazban, a tiny nation in Asia Far East to develop nuclear-powered super soldiers for his power-mad leader.Sam Weston get the help of his former college buddy, Ryan Matsumori to design the exo skeletal frame of his new technology, MANTERA - Man Transformable Exo-Robotic Armour.
The project was leaded by a genius scientist by the name Dr.Anastasia.However, as she realize that her creation will be used in wrong way, she sabotage the development of MANTERA’s prototype at Tech lab and collaborate with her old friend to safeguard her creation from falling into the wrong hands. However, the wreckage and debris from the destroyed Mantera was accidentally shipped to Malaysia.
Azman who posses the power of Mantera from a complete motorbike he assembled from metal scratch feels himself very lucky to receive such findings. Nevertheless, everything comes with a price.When Sam Weston find out about the reactivation of Mantera in Malaysia,he deploys two destroyer robot to hunt down Mantera.

editSpeaking to some press during the MoU Signing event between Flare Studios, FINAS and Spacetoon International, Miza Mohamad, the CEO of Flare Studios revealed that his company is trying to produce a product which can be marketed worldwide, and he believes that Malaysian film has the potential to penetrate global market.
The idea of combining live action and computer generated image (CGI)technology begins a few years ago when Flare Studios which has been known as an animation house sees a big opportunity in this field.Rewarded with talents that Malaysia has, they do not see any obstacles to invent in this kind of industry.A total of 10 versions of script has been written by the script writers, Miza Mohamad,Khairul Anuar Md.Ariff and Azmer Shazly Norazhar.
The production of this film involves A1 production crew that has experience in International Film & TV commercial productions, where about 30% of scenes being carried out in Dubai.The film uses the state-of-the-art 4K resolution RedOne camera and Employing the latest Computer Generated Images (CGI) techniques covering explosion, water and environmental simulation. Music score composed through Epic Score/WestOne Studios which has contributed to a number of Hollywood features such “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Superman Returns”, “The X Men” and “The Bourne Ultimatum”
