Hello everyone, I'm Minorax. I've been editing the English Wikipedia for slightly over 7 years now and usually patrol Special:NewPages and find files that can be moved to Commons.
As a global sysop, I patrol small wikis and help out with administrative stuff there, typically finding x-wiki socks and reverting vandalism. For a list of other user rights, see m:User:Minorax/matrix.

Natrix maura, commonly known as the viperine snake or the viperine water snake, is a semiaquatic natricine snake in the family Colubridae. It is found in southwestern Europe and northwestern Africa, where it inhabits terrestrial and aquatic habitats, including forests, shrublands and inland wetlands. It feeds on fish, frogs and other aquatic animals and spends much of its time hunting in water. Grey, brown or reddish in colour, it has a distinctive black zigzag pattern resembling that of an adder, although it is not a true viper. Adults can reach up to 85 cm (33 in) in length. It is classified as a least-concern species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, although its numbers are declining. Threats include aquatic pollution, habitat alteration and wetland loss. This photograph shows an N. maura snake swimming in Extremadura, Spain.
