As a dinosaur enthusiast, it was inevitable for me to be interested in phylogenetics as well. Almost every paleontologist creates phylogenetic analyses, and indeed, I believe it is one of the most important sub-disciplines of paleontology. Phylogenetic analyses help us understand how a fossil taxon is related to others and thus reconstruct it accordingly
I've created a data matrix of using the Miracusaurs as taxa and scored them for (admittedly plesiomorphic) characters. I've ran them in two different programs: Mesquite and TNT. Since they recover different results, and I plan to evolve them in different directions, check them out in the subpages below:
