Bill Millsaps(1943-2020)
"Almost no one called William Millsaps "Bill" - he was 'Saps to friends, family and the people he wrote about so eloquently for so many years in The Richmond Times-Dispatch".[1]
He was a sportswriter and executive of the Richmond Times-Dispatch from 1966 to 2005.[2] Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). He began his journalistic career at the The Knoxville Journal.[3]

editMillsaps was a 2019 inductee into the Virginia Golf Hall of Fame.[6] He was named ...[7] He participated in the annual Bill Brill Invitational golf tournament in southwest Virginia.[8]
Biography
editHe was an award-winning sports writer for the Richmond Times-Dispatch.[9] Established Red Smith Award.[10] He sometimes wrote book reviews or recommended sports books to his readers.[11]
