UPLB Carillon - Rizal Centenary Carillon Tower The University of the Philippines (UP) is one of the few universities in the world to have its own carillon tower. The Rizal Centenary Carillon was built in 1996 through the efforts of alumni. It has 37 bells of different sizes. The heaviest (note F1) measures 1130 mm in diameter and weighs 897 kg., the lightest (note G4) is 225 mm in diameter and weighs 13.5 kg

editEducation is very important to everyone in this world, the Culion Island not only provided a good few, but also provided a good school for education. So that’s a mean educated person staying around them. They still keep it higher the education around Culion Island to make around Culion Island be a good peoples and with a good knowledge. There are currently 15 public elementary schools, one private, one public high school and a college run by the Jesuits priests.

The Culion Schools Elementary System has penetrated the whole of the Municipality though due to population increase, extension classes are much needed. It has forty (40) structures, which sere s Offices and Classrooms. Some of which are constructed by the Parents, Teachers and Community Associations (PTCA’s). There are 67 teachers, 12 of them are males and 55 are females, wherein one is the supervisor and two are non-academic personnel’s. The total pupils population is 2,420; 1,262 are males, 1,158 are females and 1,920 are from the primary grades while 510 are in the intermediate grades. There are 17 schools with 9 complete grades.
