Greetings. Welcome to the User Page of MKirkland. This is not an encyclopedia page.
MKirkland is an very very new user. She intends to offer support on a variety of topics relating to the field of botany including: vascular plants, lichens, bryophytes, and plant ecology. Her professional life focuses primarily on restoring native plant communities, prevention and detection of invasive species, and other conservation biology related matters. In addition, she has experience with ArcGIS and may be able to contribute in that arena as well.
MKirkland lives in the Pacific Northwest and her botanical expertise is associated with the floras of many regions of Oregon. In addition, she has spent considerable time in the Great Basin.
She loves all things related to birds, marine life, trees, goats, the web of life, serpentine plant communities, plant geography, succulents, bones, small rocks, desert pavement, rocky outcrops, pollinators, and books. She also loves to learn new stuff.
Hopefully, she can soon find her way around in the vast labyrinth that is Wikipedia.
