In 2010 Teenage Rockstar organized the Teenage Rockstar Summer Camp on the Baltic Sea island Rügen, Germany. The camp was set up in cooperation with the German private TV channel RTL and Disney.[5]

Global Rockstar Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest

edit

IAAI, on the occasion of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Rio +20 invited young people from around the world to participate by sharing their vision of a sustainable word with their own music[6].

313 songs were submitted by young artists from 40 countries. Between 19 March and 18 May 2012 more than 200,000 visitors voted for their favourite songs on the platform www.global-rockstar.net. edit

A new round of the Global Rockstar contest for 2014 is due to start in September 2014. The cash prize has been increased to USD 25,000. The process of the contest will be the same as in 2013 with a country-based pre-selection and a global final.[15]

Innovation

edit

Firs worldwide online music contest

edit

Global Rockstar 2012 was the first worldwide music contest, since the platform was not rolled out step-by-step but offered the possibility to participate from all countries in the world at once.[16]

Global Rockstar Arena

edit

The Global Rockstar Arena was introduced with the Global Rockstar 2012[17]. In the Arena, a section of the platform, the music video are shown in random pairs and the user must choose one – after listening to both - before the next two are displayed. This guarantees fairness for all participants, since the users/jury will listen to all candidates and can not cherry-pick their favourite directly.[18]
