Bijumbum

Bijumbum is the supreme creator in the language of the Ukati people.

In classical pre-colonial Ukati myth, Bijumbum brought human beings and cattle from an area of reeds. He created everything, from water to man to animals. He is considered the first man as the parent of all Ukati. He taught the Ukati how to hunt, how to make fire, and how to grow food.

With the arrival of colonialists to Africa, the Ukati were completely irradiated with the only records left are engravings in abandoned homes. Bijumbum means the man who was first in the Ukati language.
