CANADA ROCKZ - Is the intellectual property of Earl Johnson circa 2014. Earl created this musical act, which is a Tribute to the Best of Canadian Rock and covers well over 50 years of the songs of Major Canadian Rock Artists. The current version of this band includes and features Rachel Jeans as the main Vocalist. Earl Johnson as the Guitarist and Musical Director of the band. It also includes Ron McLeod on Drums and an original founding member and Carlos Pontone on Bass Guitar and Vocals. Former Members include Jim Cornell on Guitar and Vocals and Bassist Doug Collier.

CANADA ROCKZ was started in the spring of 2016 with original members Earl Johnson, Ron McLeod, Doug Collier, Jim Cornell and Kat Vhonda as the female singer. One of the first gigs was at the HARD ROCK CAFE in Toronto where they were very well received. In the summer of 2018 the band took a Hiatus for 6 months due to Differences with Jim Cornell the Male Vocalist. According to the band members Jim was no longer capable of handling the main Vocal position and had issues remembering song Lyrics live that affected the overall performance of the band. Kat Vhonda was no longer with the band due to inactivity in regards to Live Dates.

In mid 2019 Jim Cornell and Earl Johnson met to iron out differences with the help of Drummer Ron McLeod intervening on several occassions. In September of 2018 during the bands time off Earl created the Face Book page Canada Rockz and was working to add new members to the band. This was put on hold as Jim Cornell started reaching to the band. In mid 2019 Jim Cornell was brought back into the band. Canada Rockz had limited success until the addition of Rachel Jeans as the principle female vocalist in the summer of 2019.In the spring of 2019 Rachel Jeans joined the band and her talent, stage presence and vocal ability immediately elevated the act from a Bar Band/Lower Level Festival Act to a more prominent position in the Market Place. Rob Tustin from Music Group took on the band on the strength of a Promo Video they put together featuring Rachel Jeans.

In January of 2019 Earl Johnson purchased the domain name CanadaRockz.ca and the band changed their name and Logo based on the new Spelling directed by Earl. The band had also been using the domain RockBandCanda.com which Earl had purchased in 2014 and continued to use it as the main website. The band was getting offered higher level special dates through the fall of 2019 and 2020 looked very promising until the COVID Pandemic hit in early 2020.

Unbeknownst to Earl and the rest of the band members, Jim Cornell had applied to Trademark Canada for the name Canada Rock Productions and in March of 2020 told members that we are know covered by a Trademark. Earl Johnson never received a copy of the application but assumed his name was on it as he had created the band name, musical concept and had provided the band's domain names for more than 5 years.

There was growing friction in the band due the overcontrolling nature of Jim Cornell who refused to upgrade the website upon Earl's urging and wanted to control the bookings and agent relations between he and his wife Lori. Meanwhile Rob Tustin was recommending to the band that Rachel Jeans should be the featured artist within the band and that was met with serious pushback from Jim Cornell.

Jim took attempted to fire the bands representation without the bands prior consent which caused a major issue within the band and led to him being released from the band at that time. He was asked to submit an apology to the agent and refused to and hence the relationship with Jim Cornell and Canada Rockz came to an end. Jim's wife Lori attempted to intervene and informed Earl Johnson that She and Jim owned the name Canada Rockz because they had applied for a Trademark of the name.

Earl Johnson was shocked that Mr. Cornell would do such an obvious attempt at Business Identity Theft and try to steal his name and band concept etc. The 4 remaining band members decided to continue on and in the interim Mr Cornell has hacked the bands website and claimed ownership of the Band's name due to his current trademark application which he is not is current ownership of. He also took out the domain name canadarockz.com to further try to black the band using it's true name.

In the interim Canada Rockz the true band (which does not include Mr Cornell) decided to continue on with the use of the name and pursue Live Dates and is the process of working on it's first Original recordings. They hope to release new songs in the summer of 2020. The band members in CANADA ROCKZ all agreed to continue on with the name of the band, while being very aware that a TradeMark takes 3 years to get certified and registered in Canada and that they were not going to change the name based on what Jim and Lori claimed was a Registered Trademark, when in fact it is not.
