Angel Tong (Chinese: 唐安麒) is a Hong Kong entrepreneur, author, and actress. She is the founder of Angel Face Beauty Creations and the creator of Angel Natural Diet, a food-combination-based diet intended for weight loss and health maintenance.
Early life
editTong grew up in a single-parent family. She began her career in the beauty industry as a part-time model and beauty salon apprentice, and at the age of 19, she founded the beauty salon “Angel Face Beauty Creations” in Hong Kong. [1] In 1993, Tong opened her first oversea branch in Taiwan. During her career in Taiwan, she was most well-known for bringing Taiwanese model, Lin Chi-ling to fame in 2002. [2]
In 2005, she started a beauty salon franchise “Angel Life” in China.
Tong studied weight management and Chinese Medicine nutritional studies in Hong Kong. She was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Business Administration from International American University.
Tong is married to a Taiwanese entrepreneur and has one daughter. [3]
Acting career
editTong appeared as guest on various TV talk shows in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, including Taiwanese variety show “Kangsi Coming” (2004) [4] and “The Meifeng Show”(美鳳水噹噹) (2008). She was the co-host for the Healthy Cooking section on Asia Television’s talk show “Guide to Modern Living” (時尚生活Guide), Next Media Animation’s cooking show “Private Kitchen" (私家廚房), China Entertainment Television’s talk show “LOHAS living” [5], An Hui Television’s “Pretty Woman” (美麗俏佳人) [6], and Shenzhen TV’s “Hot Mom College” (辣媽學院).
In 2013, Tong played a role in the Play (theatre) “The End of Love Generation” which debuted at Guangzhou Friendship Theater (廣州友誼劇院) on September 21, and held its final performance at the Century Theatre in Beijing on November 28. [7] [8] The play was written by Hong Kong producer Liu Zi Yuen, and cast included Hong Kong actress Kara Hui, Hong Kong actor Hugo Ng Toi Yung and Chinese singer Li Xiaoyun.[9] Tong played the role of Gao Zhi Yao.
