MUKESH HISSARIYA[1]is a businessman by profession and a social worker by passion. He is a well-known personality in Bihar for the noble cause that he is doing to the humanity. His work for novel cause of blood donation which he started since 1991 is spreading and saving lots of life across Bihar. VIRTUAL BLOOD BANK was born out of compassion. Today, that compassion, coupled with technology, is saving thousands of lives in Patna (Bihar) and across India every year. Charitable Virtual Blood Bank was conceived when the founder, Mr. Mukesh Hissariya was going through the treatment of his mother in Vellore in 1991. Though his mother did not require blood but the doctor said that his mother condition is very critical. At that very point of time Mukesh Hissariya closed his eyes and prayed to God and took a pledge that if his mother condition improves then he will donate a litre of blood. God listened to his kind prayer and that’s how the journey started of donating blood and influencing others to donate till 2008. In the year 2008 Mr. Mukesh Hissariya was diagnosed with diabetes. Agitated and saddened, he decided to establish an organization that would put an end to such avoidable risks of blood shortage. Patna got its first charitable blood bank in the year 2010, “VIRTUAL BLOOD BANK (Run By Maa Vaishno Devi Seva Samiti Trust)”. We are driven by a single idea: no lives should be lost for the need of blood. He and his teammates decided to do whatever it requires to save a life. The technologically advanced Mukesh Hissariya operates with the help of social networking like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn etc having working strength of 250 people. Very soon they are going to acquire most sophisticated Blood Banking equipment. His main emphasis is on taking care of patients suffering from Thalassemia encouraging the medical fraternity to use blood components instead of whole blood. By use of components, optimum utilization of blood can be obtained, and 3 to 4 lives can be saved with just one unit of blood. This process is remarkable and very few people think in this direction. With this kind of arrangement, he is going to be the first person in Patna to start such tremendous Blood Bank. Better treatment for disease like ‘Thalassemia’ is expected soon in states capital that is Patna. As a model blood bank which will be offering free-of-cost services to the patients, especially girl children, abandoned people and below poverty line category in the city. Mukesh Hissariya is well-known figure, he not only encourages others for the mission but he himself donated blood for 45 times in his lifespan. History & Background Mukesh Hissariya is originally from the capital city Patna which is situated at the heart of Bihar. He has a medicine business in Govind Mitra Road, Patna (Bihar). Earlier he along with his 3 friends have started a trust “Maa Vaishno Devi Seva Samiti, Patna” established for group marriage of poor girls. They used to bring as many as 50 poor girls together under one roof and make all arrangements of their marriages. They get many volunteers to participate in this noble work and this has been a great success so far. Mukesh has always been a person with kind heart and dedicated towards his mission.

Awards and Recognition National level 1. Total number of nine society influencing people were selected across India by the team to meet Bollywood celebrity Mr. Shah Rukh Khan. Mukesh and his team were one of the fortunate who got this opportunity for his outstanding contribution to the society through blood donation. He was praised by the celebrity for his fabulous work.

2. Also Mukesh Hissariya was invited along with his colleagues by the team of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati for their influencing social activities. He was honoured for his tremendous work being done for the humanity and the motivation of the team was boosted by our well known beloved personality Mr. Amitabh Bacchhan.

State Level 1.Bihar State AIDS Control Society honored him for his volunteerism. 2.Lion’s Club of Patliputra Adarsh honored him. 3.Rotary International, Bihar chapter honored. 4.‘Zee Purbaiya’ channel awarded him as ‘Crowd of the Week’ in the program ‘Ghazab Hai’.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE FIELD Mukesh is a well-known figure in the field of blood donation campaign. He not only encourages others for the mission but also donated blood for 45 times till now. CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOCIETY In this present era, when most of the people are becoming self-centered and materialistic, there are some people who are less concerned about themselves and more concerned about the well-being of others. Apart from being the owner of Jeevan Glucose Company, he also runs a virtual blood bank. The website www.biharbloodbank.com was launched on 1st October 2011 and more than 5800 registrations have been made till date. Through this website, blood is donated to the needy, free of cost. His initiative helped the lives of approximately 5000 people. He also helps the poor families of the society by arranging their daughter's wedding as a project of 51 group marriages every year along with his colleagues. Mukesh is a dutiful, sincere and hardworking person whose only motive of life is to serve the humanity, society and nation. Amid COVID- 19 outbreak he does not keep his mouth shut for the Thalassemia patients he makes everything possible to provide them blood. His dedication towards life makes him perfect the way he wants to achieve it. And those who are facing problem in eating or food packaging or any sort of help, he supports everyone by providing them with the food materials.
