Background

edit

I grew up near Boston, Massachusetts, went to college and grad school in Colorado, and have lived near Raleigh, North Carolina for long enough that I reflexively order sweet tea. My parents took us on extensive car travels when I was a kid, so I've been to most states at least once and to several Canadian provinces. I've also done some traveling in Europe. I took French in High School but have happily forgotten most of it, and know just enough Danish to get myself in trouble.

Education & Professional Info

edit

I have worked in various museums since 1995 and for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences since 1998. My current title is Web Editor. We have used a modified AP style since approximately 2012. I also have taken photos for the NCMNS since 1999, and currently shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III. I am primarily a self-taught geek, though I have taken a couple of programming classes. I have a master's degree in Museum and Field Studies and a B.A. in Anthropology. I'm generally familiar with Southwestern Archaeology. I have the equivalent of a minor in Philosophy, and have taken college level courses in biology and chemistry. My father was a physicist, but I didn't inherit those genes.
