My 600-lb. Life is a reality television show on the TLC network about the struggles of morbidly-obese individuals undergoing gastric bypass surgery. Filming for the initial season began in 2004 and followed 4 individuals, 2 male and 2 female, on a 7 year journey to track their progress after their extreme surgery. Subsequent seasons have followed the lives of several more patients undergoing the surgery, but follows their progress for only a single year after. Currently in its 3rd season, the first several episodes are devoted to two individuals from season 2, in order to give more detail on their progress past the 1-year mark.
