About Me

edit

I'm a 27 year old antique and vintage jewellery dealer living in Canada with a degree in anthropology from McMaster University. I'm accustomed to proof reading and spell checking and I've just begun editing Wikipedia with minor edits on pages.

What's a "Myloko"?

edit

It's an acronym that I made up when I was 13 years old and I've used it for everything ever since. I try to use this in my daily life and as a model for my business. M.Y.L.O.K.O. stands for May your love only know one.

Mylokoville

edit

This is the company that I self manage. I've been doing business since 2012 on Ebay and Etsy. I became interested in jewellery when I was a child and, when I had the opportunity to learn more as an adult, I jumped at the chance to do so and I've been learning ever since. I am mainly self taught through reading volumes upon volumes of books and actively researching designers, styles, and materials on the internet. Within the last year I've begun to do jewellery repair, specifically focusing on repairing and restoring costume jewelry.

Collecting

edit

While jewellery is my business, my passion for collecting rests with kimono. I've been buying, selling, and displaying kimono for 9 years, with large exhibitions held at Anime North each May. Through kimono I began studying about geisha and geisha culture. I'm active on forums regarding geisha and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.
