In the following article Media and teen relationships Social Media Pros & Cons. are very important. Something that should be point out is cyberbullying. Many teens have struggled with cyberbullying. The main reason is because many of them use almost every hour an electronic device. ''87 percent of today’s youth have witnessed cyberbullying'' Girl are more judgemental that is the reason why the experience more cyber bullying. They write mean comments. ''Girls (41 percent) are more likely to experience cyberbullying at some point in their life compared to boys (28 percent)''. Also in the article it talks a lot about body issues. Spesifically how women see their bodies and how much they are influenced from the social media. '' It was found that 51 percent of the people surveyed said that seeing photos of themselves on Facebook makes them more self-conscious about their body image and weight. What is really concerning is that 31 percent said that they feel sad when they compare themselves to their friends on Facebook. Of the people surveyed, 44 percent said they spend time wishing they had the same body as a Facebook friend when they compare themselves to them, while 37 percent said they feel they need to change parts about their body when they look at people’s photos on Facebook.''
Another survey was given to 881 female college students. Spending a lot of time on social media and especially on Facebook can lead to many problems. One of them is that women compare their selves with other women only by seeing pictures on facebook. ''Spending more time on Facebook was linked to a significantly greater likelihood that a woman would feel bad about her own body, the study revealed. It also was tied to greater odds that she would compare herself to others.'' Women try to look extremely nice on Facebook so they earn likes. But sometimes by trying really hard to have a nice body, the result will be to have eating disorders. Although social media in general have their pros too. When some people are in different countries they are not able to communicate face to face but they can talk through social media. That helps a lot in each persons life. But on the other hand, when for example a relationship is over and someone sees that their ex has moved on with their life the person gets jealous and the result of this kind of jealousy is stalking their exes. Stalking is a crime in our everyday life and sometimes are emotions brings us in the position to act that way. ''negative feelings were triggered, and the cycle of having to get over your ex had to be repeated. That kind of negative cycle actually makes it a lot harder for the “stalker” to recover from the breakup, which of course, tends to lead to problems in future relationships.''
