About my edits to "Systems of inheritance among various peoples"

Well, I merely added some information to the article. I didn't want to help any other user, I just saw that that user had added some more information before and I restored it, adding also some data on my own. I have restored the changes I made, explaining their reason. ;) Don't worry, I will explain the reason behind my edits next time. Let me become accostumed to Wikipedia. Mike Aremu

Good Afternoon, I am not through editing the page, my internet service provider was about to cut me off so i quickly saved it pending when i could sort it out with my ISP and come back to edit it the page "Mike aremu". there is still so much i had to put on it. please it shouldn't be deleted. i am still working on it. Itomoike (talk) 14:37, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I can see that the page Mike Aremu was deleted on May 30th as a result of copyright infringement. You created the page Mike aremu recently and I merely tagged it for speedy deletion as there was not enough content at the time for establishing notability. Don't worry, you can still recreate the page and contribute to it, providing the article meets WP:GNG. To avoid the issue you faced, you can also start your new article at Special:Mypage/Mike Aremu. There, you can develop the article with less risk of deletion, ask other editors to help work on it, and move it into "article space" when it is ready. I'll be happy to help you out if you need anything, Good day. NQ  talk 20:32, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Maria Sharapova

I just can't understand why editors are aggressively deleting the section of controversies from the page. The incident regarding sachin tendulkar is trending in the social networking sites and is being widely coverage by media in different countries. I don't think its against WP:NOTNEWS. Editors deleting the section are just stating the wikipedia's policy regarding news and not pursuing the talk. i think this is deliberate blocking of information - Rameshnta909 (talk) 16:04, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

@Rameshnta909: Just because it is trending does not mean it should be included in a BLP. WP:NOTDIARY clearly states "Even when an individual is notable, not all events they are involved in are. For example, news reporting about celebrities and sports figures can be very frequent and cover a lot of trivia but using all these sources would lead to over-detailed articles that look like a diary. Not every match played, goal scored or hand shaken(emphasis mine) is significant enough to be included in the biography of a person."  NQ  talk 16:15, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
It is trending in the social media my friend and it will be but the news reports are not an ongoing process. The incident happened and various media reported the incident. It can't be compared to events in a match she played since it is not an event that happens very frequently. Why are you insisting for a time frame to include this in the article. If sharapova said the same about David beckham then it can be included becoz she is supposed to know him? very strange reasons to block a genuine content - Rameshnta909 (talk) 17:05, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
@Rameshnta909: See here. There is a strong consensus not to include said information, based solely on Wikipedia policies. There is nothing more to it.  NQ  talk 17:46, 4 July 2014 (UTC) - (followup)

Simple Enterprise Agile (SeA)

Hello, please remove deletion tag for the following reason: This article in no way directs anyone to any promotional material. The article provides valuable free content to the Project Management community. It is written by a very experienced Project/ Program Manager and Coach. The Author has numerous publications on Ezines.com, Amazon.com and Slideshare. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Betchplus (talkcontribs)

Hi, I did not nominate the article in question for deletion, I merely restored the deletion tag you removed. That being said, I can see that your article has been deleted repeatedly by multiple admins. They've explained their reasons for deletion. See here and here. Now User:Peridon has explained in detail here on how to proceed in very simple terms. I suggest that you use the Articles for Creation process. Thank you  NQ  talk 18:57, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Can you please undelete the article so it can be in the sandbox? It says that you were the deleting editor, so I am not sure where to go from here. I was not finished with it when it was deleted multiple times. I am new to this process, but it seems very difficult to finish the process if individuals delete the article before completion. The work has a lot of merit with case studies, so any help to get this back online would be appreciated. Betchplus (talk) 19:29, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Like Jakob and MadScientistX11 explained at the teahouse, it's already in the sandbox. Here is the link. You can make improvements and edit the article there as per the suggestions given to you by fellow editors. The article won't be deleted while it is in the sandbox, you don't have to worry about that.  NQ  talk 19:51, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
@Betchplus: I am really sorry, the discussion at WP:Teahouse (here) gave me the impression that you were referring to the "Scaled Agile framework" page when in fact you were asking me here about Simple Enterprise Agile. I did not delete the page like you mentioned, User:Peridon was the deleting admin and he has since answered your query here. Since he is not prepared to restore the page, you'll have to recreate the page in a sandbox (in a less promotional tone citing reliable sources) Here's the original version of the page from google cache, if it helps. Thank you. Sorry about the mix up.  NQ  talk 23:00, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
Betchplus, I took a look at the draft article. I haven't been that active in Agile recently so I hadn't heard of Scaled Agile Framework but I googled it and there seems to be lots of good independent sources. The most critical thing you need to do is to add more references. My impression, granted this is just after a quick look, is that there seem to be good refs you just need to incorporate them. Also, the tone seemed to me a bit wp:promotional I suggest you read up a bit more about the policies for citing sources and how to write in an encyclopedic format. There were several good links in the responses to you in the teahouse. Alternatively, if you would like I can take a shot at it. I'm working on other non-Wiki things right now so I can't promise to turn it around immediately. If you can give me 2 days though (probably will take less time but don't want to over promise) I can edit the article and submit it as a new article myself or just pass you back my version in case you want to be the one to submit it. Either way is fine with me, if you want to just keep working on it that's totally cool. I won't do any work until you say it's OK so we don't risk over writing each other. One last thing, keep in mind that once something is published in Wikipedia no one owns it. So if your goal is to increase awareness about this that is cool but remember it can be a double edged sword. I also found some criticisms of the framework and people with those opinions are also free to add them to the article if they write in the proper manner and source their material. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 21:43, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Thank you, I am trying to get Scaled Agile Framework back online. I do realize the criticisms, which I think is what makes Wiki a great site. Everybody has a right to their opinion, and I believe that will help keep everyone honest about the Framework. I am, however, trying to get the new Article Simple Enterprise Agile up, which has been a very painful process. This is a great Free Framework that can reduce costs exponentially for Enterprise Environments. I will hopefully be able to get this article published if there aren't any more hurdles. Thanks for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Betchplus (talkcontribs) 11:59, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Hey man don't delete my article about Amit Freidman.

Much information about model Amit Freidman can be found on various areas over the internet. She has of course modeled for Ami's angels. Instead of deleting my article you may also look for agencies she also has modeled for. She has a Facebook page. Also pania rose is also not a well known model but yet she has a Wikipedia page. It would be wrong to delete her page because of this. I can even add a picture of her as well when I have permission. I have to have edited at least five articles and have an account more than four days old first. Let me keep the page up first to give me time to prove this to you. Sorry if I disturb or if you disagree. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NickSarfaty150 (talkcontribs) 14:58, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

I didn't delete the article, an admin did. All articles on Wikipedia must adhere to the general notability guidline and Amit Freidman, fails WP:BIO. I couldn't find substantial information on the subject that establishes notability. Pania Rose on the other hand appeared in the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and as such meets the notability requirment. You are welcome to recreate the article provided you can find reliable sources to establish notability. Thanks and have a great day!  NQ  talk 15:45, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Babasaheb B. R. Ambedkar

Hello NQ, I recently found your edit on Babasaheb Ambedkar's page. I am not touching the first line dear which is already in consensus. So please let it be like that. Akhil.bharathan (talk) 10:33, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

@Akhil.bharathan: You need to get consensus on the talk page first for the additions you are proposing. There is a strong consensus against adding this laundry list.  NQ  talk 10:48, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

NQ , I am not touching the first line which is in consensus. I am only adding the sentence which is not against the consensus. Please reply. Akhil.bharathan (talk) 10:53, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

@Akhil.bharathan: See the sections Laundry list of profession and Laundry List. You merely rearranged the words from the lead sentence into the lead paragraph. Additions like 'anthropologist' need to be discussed on talk.  NQ  talk 10:59, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

NQ I know about that list. I will refrain from editing the word Anthropologist if you think like that. Noble prize winner "Amartya Sen" called him his "father in economics". He has written several books on History such as "Riddles in Hinduism" , "Buddha and Karl Marx", "The caste system and its genesis " etc. Moreover he is also the Father of Indian constitution as an untouchable. So please kindly allow me to edit. Akhil.bharathan (talk) 11:07, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

@Akhil.bharathan: I'm sorry, I am not qualified to give an opinion on what should or should not be included in the article as I am not that familiar with the subject. See, all I am suggesting is that, since you’ve been given a warning for edit warring on this article, it is better to discuss these changes on the talk page and get a consensus first in order to avoid being blocked for edit warring. Thank you.  NQ  talk 11:23, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

User: Joshua Jonathan I don't know about other users, may be its a way to communicate. Please be more concerned on the content. You always revert the changes from the first line. That's fine. I didn't argued much on that. You also removed the quote of Dalai Lama (which was sourced), the table of his writings etc. from the page. Moreover Dr.Ambedkar is the father of Indian constitution. You said "Quack Quack" . What should I assume from this? Akhil.bharathan (talk) 12:34, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

@Joshua Jonathan: I see that Akhil.bharathan chose to revert again despite the warning and got blocked for edit warring. I'll definitely keep an eye on the article for such behaviour. Thanks.  NQ  talk 13:48, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

About File:Forrest (as Hachi) walking.jpg

This is regarding the message:

"A tag has been placed on File:Forrest (as Hachi) walking.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement."

I hope the message was generated automatically, because otherwise it makes ZERO sense for anyone to call it a "copyright violation" - let alone a "blatant" one at that! The image in a question is a scene from a movie. It is NOT the entire movie but just a moment from the movie. Similar (though not identical) images from this very same movie have been used in blogs and reviews all over the internet. This is just one such example - http://burstmytears.blogspot.com/2011/10/hachi-dogs-tale-2009-hachiko-dogs-story.html

The purpose of adding the image is to create a Wikipedia page for Forrest, the dog who played a role in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachi:_A_Dog%27s_Tale That page will eventually be hyperlinked to the name "Forrest", mentioned in the list of characters on the right of the existing page.

So please review/reconsider the decision and allow this image on Wikipedia. Thank you!

Sudhindranath (talk) 17:42, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi. The image you mentioned is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film. Moreover I did not see a fair use claim. I merely nominated the image for deletion, it was deleted by an admin after reviewing its merits.  NQ  talk 19:43, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

  • According to History of Hamilton County, Ohio: With Illustrations and Biographical Sketches. L. A. Williams. 1881. pp. 93, 94., he was later promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
  • In "U.S., Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles, 1861-1865" at Ancestry.com - His enlistment date is listed as 19 June 1861 at the age of 19. That puts his birth year about 1842. - Source: "Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio"

Hi NQ, I didn't understand why you reverted my edits on Shudra article. I have quoted authentic sources for my edits, one of which is a book written by Ambedkar, the man who wrote the Indian constitution. I tried to talk to Sitush who was reverting my edits but he instead of responding to me deleted what I had written there. Clearly he DOES NOT want to have a discussion. That is why I requested semi protection for that page. Please look at my edits and sources. Request you to please respect the scholarship of Bhim Rao Ambedkar and not the biases of Sitush. Hoping that you will revert your edit. Thanks. Spark121212 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spark121212 (talkcontribs) 15:57, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

@Spark121212: Here is why I reverted your edits -

  • You requested protection in the article space - Requests for protection should be made at WP:RFPP.
  • You cited "High level of IP vandalism" as the reason - An IP has not edited the article in months.
  • You are engaged in an edit war over a content dispute - Despite being warned, you've violated WP:3RR

Please discuss the proposed changes on the talk page - Talk:Shudra (I don't see any) and reach consensus rather than getting blocked for edit warring.  NQ  talk 16:15, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

They commented at User talk:Sitush#Shudra. Well, actually, at the top of that page and I moved it to the bottom, as is normal practice, before replying with a ping to them. Now, back to my cremating cooking. - Sitush (talk) 16:25, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Discussed on Shudra talk page, and at User talk:Sitush#Shudra. Since you have reverted pls look into the matter. The content on Shudra page right now with words like "untouchable" is extremely contentious and offensive. It is not OK to call Ambedkar "untouchable" and "dalit activist" He has been voted as the Greatest Indian. The article 'Suicide Methods' has had over 80,000 views in the last few days. It is an unnecessary overcategorisation and appears on google when you search 'suicide'.
