Brogan Austin
editBrogan Austin (born October 5, 1991) is an American track and field athlete, specializing in long distance running events. He is the 2018 American Champion in the Marathon, as well as the course record holder at numerous races and distances, including the Indy Monumental Half Marathon. He is currently training to make the USA Olympic Team in the Marathon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Collegiate Career
editAustin was a student athlete at Drake University. While at Drake, he was a five-time Missouri Valley Conference Champion on the track with three indoor 5,000-meter titles and a 3,000-meter title to his credit. In 2013, he won the Drake Relays 5,000-meter title and claimed the MVC crown in the event as well. In cross-country, he was the MVC Individual Champion in 2011. While at Drake, Austin had numerous accolades: he was an NCAA Cross Country Championships qualifier; he held the Indoor 5,000-meter school record; he was an MVP conference meet record holder; he was a 2x Conference meet MVP; he was the Drake University Student Athlete MVP, and; he was an Academic All-American.
Professional Career
editPost-graduation, Austin quickly qualified for the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials, where he placed 38th in his debut marathon. Placed 16th at the USA Club Cross Country Championships (29:52). Placed 12th at the USA 7 Mile Championship. 2017 and 2018 saw massive development for Austin, and he won the Good Life Halfsy (2017) and Indy Half Marathon (2018) by smashing the course records at both races. He capped off 2018 with a win at the California International Marathon / USATF Marathon Championships, becoming the US National Marathon Champion. In 2019, Austin started the year with an overall win at the Atlanta Track Club's Road To Gold 8-Mile Race, which is the final loop on the course of the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials.
Austin has his sights set on the 2020 Olympic Trials and making the US Olympic team in the Men's Marathon for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
