Writing quality Wikipedia articles can take a lot of time and effort for editors. This time is obviously usually given for free by our editors and as a result many Wikipedia editors never push an article to GA quality or higher. We have over 2 million articles and only around 6000 articles that have been given a 'quality' status. The vast majority of 'basic' topics languish at B class or lower, particularly articles that are victims of Wikipedia's systemic bias. Therefore, in an attempt to provide a tiny bit more motivation for our editors, I will give a reward to editors who improve the articles listed below significantly.
- $50 USD or the equivalent in your currency for good articles
- $100 USD or the equivalent in your currency for featured articles
- The reward is being offered jointly by myself, User:Naerii ($40/$70), and User:Kaldari ($10/$30).
- If more than one editor contributes significantly to the article then the reward will not be shared, they will both receive the above specified amount
- The money will be transferred via Paypal or an Amazon gift certificate
- Contact me on my talk page or via email to be rewarded. There may be a wait of up to a week.
- I will give a maximum of one reward per week - if two people message me in the same week the second person to contact me will receive their reward the week after
- If I go on a break and haven't been editing for a while I probably won't be around to reward you. You should probably let me know if you're planning on improving one of these so I can be around to imburse you :)
- The article must remain listed for at least three weeks after promotion without undergoing a review here or here.
- If you edit war or cause disruption in your attempts to bring an article up that status to get a reward - be aware that I will be reviewing the history of every article for myself and if I see any shady behaviour I will be withdrawing the reward for that article. So please don't try to game the system.
