This Lord Shiva symbol was identified by Mahant Karam Giri ji, that time Karam Giri ji used to do spiritual practice here in these forests. Due to the fertile land at that time the many group of cows used come into these forests to eat grass. Almost daily, a cow used to stop in one place and its milk stream automatically came out on this Swayambhulinga into the first layer of earth. Mahant Karam Giri was aware of this!
Mahant Karam Giri used to do penance here for Moksha and all others whoever was with them. As usual, Mahant Karam Giri, sitting in the meditation below a VatVariksha (वटवृक्ष). suddenly heard a lot of noise, he lost his attention. he saw a crowd, and he got up and walked towards the crowd. After seeing the Mahant (Karam Giri ji), everyone left the way, so Mahant saw the digging of some land at the same place where the cow stopped and in digging that ground, mahant saw Swayambhulinga soaked in blood and cow's milk. While digging the ground, accidentally hurt Swayambulinga was the cause of blood. This symbol is still available on the Swayambhulinga.
Swayambhulinga protected by Juna Akhada Sadhus, holy persons in Hinduism. This Swayambhulinga is more than 500 years old and since the beginning of the year, the Sadhus have been doing spiritual practice here. Even today it is claimed that this "Or Shiva in Mount Kailash and or Shiva Nalas"
