Legalising abortion will reduce the unwanted pregnancy which is rising at an alarming rate in Namibia. Legalising abortion will not only reduce unwanted pregnancy but it will provide a life line to the often victimised women who are faced with a life of misery, missed opportunities, lack of support, social ostracism often ushered by gossip, speculation and family shame which ultimately perpetuates the cycle of poverty. However legalising abortion comes with certain responsibilities such as educating young women or girls about the advantage and disadvantage of abortion.
