Avtec, Inc. is a telecommunications equipment provider that specializes in voice-over-internet protocol dispatch systems. Avtec systems are used in the public safety, utilities, transportation, government and business industries. The company is based in Lexington, SC.[1]
History
editAvtec was founded in 1979 by Troy Branning with $5000 of capital. After having some success in the rail industry, Avtec expanded into neighboring markets who had the need for reliable telecommunications. In 1993, Troy's son Michael Branning was handed the title of president and CEO.[2]
Avtec was named to South Carolina’s Fastest Growing Companies in 2012-14.[1]
