Raghav Moran was a notable leader of Moamoria rebellion.After the first Moamoria rebellion he became Borbaruah .He forcefully married all the wives of king Lakshminath Singh and granted special status out of them to Kuranga Nayani.
Since there was no good relation between the Ahoms and Moran's .So kuranganayani killed Bir Raghav Moran by cutting his throat on the day of Bohag Bihu.
Since then that day of Bohag Bihu is also observed as Bir Raghav Moran Divas and the assam government announced special award in the memory of Raghav Moran.The award will be given to persons who contributed in the fields of academics,Social Justice and economic development through agriculture every 3 years by providing cash price of rupees 2 lakhs ,citations and mementos.
