Biography

Nektarios Sfyrakis was born in Germany, his origin is from Crete and he grew up in Piraeus. His relationship with music begins at 14 in a church choir in Piraeus. Along with school he works as a musician and later after high school he leaves Greece and plays with various bands in Austria, France and Germany. He returns to Greece to serve as a cadet lieutenant and after his term he gets in touch with the head of the Greek repertoire of WARNER MUSIC at the time and in 1997 presents his first record work entitled "I AM NOWHERE" where he has overall responsibility for the creation (lyrics, music, performance). From this album stand out the songs "den eimai pouthena", "nai mou to pane", "Words-Words", "You're in the past", "Andecho". In 1998 comes the next album entitled "APOSPE FEIGO" where "I'll come secretly at night", "Lies" and "I'm leaving tonight" stood out. Honorary for Nektarios was the participation of traditional Cretan lyre player Vassilis Skoulas. In 1999, the album "HORIS RISKO" with compositions composed by Kostas Tourna, Christos Dantis, Nikos Terzis, Akis Deiximos and others where "Horis risko", "Melancholy song", "A thousand stars" "Leave with the first train" and the arrangement in lyrics by Vangelis Kostantinides of the Italian Laura non che, "Think well" where it was very successful. At the end of 2001 he presents "WHICH FAIRY TALE TO LIVE" where his collaboration with Kiki Lesendrich was important where "Which Fairy Tale I Live" and "My Journey" stood out. In April 2003 he presents the album entitled "TELL ME" which moves in more folk-like ways and style, which perhaps surprises with the choice of folk sound as the protagonist, from traditional instruments. Sazi, oud, Cretan lyre. A person with social sensibilities, he is an organ donor, and a friend of the ELPIDA association of friends for children with cancer, where he was awarded for his contribution in an event held at the music hall by the president of the republic, Konstantinos Stephanopoulos, on 24/11/2003. He has taken part in many events on issues that mainly concern children but also the elderly as well as many social problems in Greece and Cyprus.
