- Nesdon is my real name, Nesdon Foye Booth Jr. to be exact.
- I believe Wikipedia to be one of the most important developments not only in the history of online communications, but in the history of human knowledge.
- I disagree strongly with my academic colleagues who decry it as a poor or unreliable source, and I make meager editing efforts to help it be less so.
- The key to Wikipedia's superior reliability lies in its talk pages and a Wiki's inherent retention of edit histories. Neither of these features are present in most sources, and this attachment of meta information about not only the provenance and evolution of an article, but its creators as well, allows for deeper understanding and assessment of the reliability of an entry. Note the example of my subsequent acknowledgement of a Conflict of Interest.
- I have worked for a company (All Power Labs) since Jan. 2014, which was founded by a friend about 10 years ago, and whose mission to develop carbon-negative energy appliances I have applauded and followed since its inception. I have drafted an article (All_power_labs) profiling what I think is its notable effort in an important technology space. I strove to be as objective as possible and comply with all wikipedia standards of formality, neutrality and notability, but due to the inevitable bias arising from my conflict of interest, I may not always succeed as well as I would like to.
- Feel free to tell me how I fail or succeed and feel free to...
