Lia Ali (born 1986 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is an American painter.[1]


Life

Originally from Bulgaria, Ali graduated from the National Academy of Art [2] in 2009 and graduated in 2013 from the Masters in Fine Art program at the New York Academy of Art [3]. Lia Ali lives and works in New York City.

Work

Ali's work primarily features landscapes composed around natures four seasons, sensual figurative works and watercolor paintings. Ali has also worked on several large scale mural projects in New York and California.

Solo and group exhibitions have included the Lik Gallery (Sofia, Bulgaria), Union of the Artists of Bulgaria (Sofia, Bulgaria) [4], Tribeca Ball at Wilkinson Hall NYAA (New York, NY), Brooklyn Kings Library (New York, NY), Flowers Gallery (New York, NY) [5], Ward Nasse Gallery (New York, NY) [6], Dacia Gallery (New York, NY) [7] [1], Mandarin Oriental (Miami, FL) [8]

Several of Ali's works and projects have been received national and local press recognition including in RG Magazine [2], Queens Eagle Newspaper [3], The Wave Newspaper [4], The Artist Portfolio Magazine [5], the American Art Collector and many others.

Other Projects

In 2019 Ali was commissioned to paint what is regarded as one of the largest interior wall murals ever undertaken on Long Island, NY. [6]
