I work for a Timber Merchants specialising in Tropical Timber and I am also the secretariat of the Scottish Timber Trade Association. I have noticed there is no term on Wikipedia for Reduced Impact Logging, which is a common practice across tropical timber regions who responsiblly fell timber.

There is a page on Logging, but this is very generic and does not cover specifically the sustainable practice of reduced impact logging.

Reduced Impact Logging is a forestry technique practised throughout tropical forestry regions which helps minimise damage to forest areas during tree selection, felling and extraction.

At this current time, it is very pertinent to ensure that the correct information is searchable on the internet as this is a poorly understood subject and the paradigm of understanding of tropical timber is associated with poor forestry practices.

Wikipedia is a go-to resource for many on information gathering and as such it is important it is included on this platform, hence me creating this page.

Reduced impact logging is widely studied in peer reviewed journals and it is adoped as best pratice by NPO's such as FSC and PEFC. ITTO and ATITB are leading associations of tropical foresry are happy I create this page for the good of the industry.
