Nahum Méndez-Sánchez (born April 27, 1956) is a Mexican Physician and researcher known for his contributions to the field of Hepatology and Gastroenterology. He currently serves as a Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he has been involved in teaching and research for several decades.
Education
editNahum Méndez-Sánchez completed his medical education at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, obtaining his Bachelor's degree in Medicine in 1984, followed by residency programs in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He pursued further specialization with a Fellowship in Medicine (Hepatology) at Harvard University's Brigham & Women's Hospital from 1991 to 1993.

editNahum Méndez-Sánchez has built a distinguished career by significant academic and administrative contributions in the field of medicine, particularly in gastroenterology, hepatology and internal medicine. His professional journey began with an internship at the National Autonomous University of Mexico from 1984 to 1985.
Following this, he assumed important roles such as Director of the Department of Biomedical Research at the Medica Sur Clinic and Foundation, a position he held for 22 years from 1996 to 2018.
