Several NFL players and other athletes spoofed the phrase in a joking or mocking manner towards Russell Wilson during their own press conferences or promotional videos. Players included Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker, and Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen,[1] and New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner following an away 31–21 win against the Broncos where Wilson struggled to execute.[2] The Florida Atlantic University football team releasing a promotional video parodying Wilson's promotional video by saying "Owls nation, let's fly".[1] ESPN color commentator Jeff Van Gundy, after noticing Russell Wilson court-side during the fifth game of the NBA Finals, repeated the catchphrase.[3]
