Hi, I picked the username NorthRyder because I have have lived almost my entire life in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde, New South Wales, Australia.

I think Wikipedia is awesome!

As a long term resident of North Ryde I have many memories of the district's earlier days, back when it was considered "billy goat country". Nowadays, North Ryde (that is also the newer suburbs of East Ryde and Macquarie Park, even Marsfield) now with three underground railway stations and massive tower developments. North Ryde was once a wonderful place, almost country living back in the 1950s. I am very interested in my local areas rich history, and future. I am also interested in my surrounding areas, in fact the whole world. I hope I can contribute something useful for future readers.

I am a newbie, so please excuse anything stupid I do while I learn how to drive this thing.

I would particularly like to thank User:JarrahTree for the lamingtons, great help, support and encouragement. Thank you! Also to User:TheDragonFire300 for the fish 'n' chips on my learning curve.
