Hello, I'm ntowle98. I'm an avid reader and trivia geek in a variety of subjects, so I contribute as able to a broad array of articles. As a writer, much of my edits are merely linguistic or grammatical, but in subjects in which I am exceptionally well-versed (such as history, culture, and social geography of my hometown of Seattle), I may contribute much more.
Like most of the other young people on Capitol Hill here in Seattle with no college degree, I am an out-and-proud member of the LGBTQ community, an out-and-proud University of Washington dropout, and a poet and novelist who unsurprisingly has yet to submit materials for publication while working in the food industry to pay the sky-high rent.
You'll never meet a more thoroughbred local as me in a city full of transplants like mine. I was born in Ballard and raised in the Aurora Corridor (Haller Lake and Broadview), Greenwood, Fremont, the U District, the Ave, and Capitol Hill, where I live now.
Additionally, I'm a classically trained organist, pianist, and singer, serving as organ scholar of Plymouth Congregational Church when I was sixteen and seventeen years old. I'm a lifelong Christian and a member of the Episcopal Church, but due to my evangelical upbringing I also have way too much information stored away about apologetics, theology, and comparative ecclesiology that may lead me to contribute on occasion articles pertaining to such topics.
I'm not an anarchist and I'm not a communist, and I would never attempt to declare independence from the country I love, so you can disregard attempts by outsiders to paint CHAZ as a gesture of such sentiments. I would have distanced myself greatly, as I very nearly did before they changed the name to CHOP and as I actually did once the so-dubbed quasi-"Summer of Love" (the peaceful atmosphere of the Zone) was over, but that is my neighborhood and I am proud to say I was present through every step of its existence. Though never attempting to involve myself in any of the vaguely conceptualized "leadership" in the Zone, I worked hard to support the Black Lives Matter marches and I continue to do the essential duties of a good neighbor in a place that seeks liberty and justice for all and will stop at nothing to find new ways to achieve it.
