Hi Fellow Wiki-Editors
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this short bio about who I am and hopefully add a Human Element to my Online Presence.
I'm in my 60's and now starting my Third Act: 3D Modeling and Motion Graphics. Im currently attending a FANTASTIC community college and after several years of homelessness, am blessed with a sweet teeny tiny studio in San Francisco bay area that I can actually afford without eating Ramen 3 times a day!
I started this account in my Second Act during the Occupy Movement. During that period, I had turned 50 and was recently laid off from my creative job at a software company. That particular layoff was the end of my First Act where I worked for that famous bank our 45th POTUS loved to borrow from, for a Native American tribal government, freelance graphic artist, cabinet builder, and business owner.
I first attended the First Congregational Church of Oakland for a Tim Wise lecture on white privilege hosted by KPFA in 2005. I fell in love with the Villa & Worship blended style of architecture for the building, so I decided to attend a Sunday service to see more of the building. Well, the Congregational method of "Church Governance" intrigued me along with a "God is inclusive and non-denominational" model, so I became involved with the Feeding Ministry. That church has been feeding people lunch in Oakland from 1860 until the kitchen had to be closed in 2019. For many years, I was on the Building & Facilities Committee, managed the web page, and served as a Board Member and Secretary.
My goal as the User Occupysomething, is 1) to create as accurately as possible a page dedicated to The First Congregational Church of Oakland. As I now begin this task after several years of inactivity, I will also be learning so please offer any criticism and tips you may have to help because I will appreciate them as much as I do my second cup of coffee; and B) eventually when appropriate contribute, create, and share our collective information!!
