Normally I like to keep a low profile but decided to come out as female since according to Wiki, when they last counted in 2013, 84% of English Wikipedia editors were male. I was motivated to start writing in Wiki because there are artists, writers, creative entrepreneurs and small nonprofits whose fascinating history had not been put together in one place, and more often than not "reliable" news sources about their work is hard to come by. So much history is being lost because it is not recorded.

Appreciate the coverage of this issue in the NY Times, "Fewer than 20 percent of biographies on Wikipedia in English are of women, according to Women in Red, Wikipedia’s gender gap-bridging project." https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/science/jess-wade-wikipedia-science-women.html
