Editing with a close connection refers to an editor who edits an article whose subject they have a close connection to.
In itself, this not a problem and should not be treated as such.
Editing with a close connection to the subject in which you are editing becomes problematic "Where advancing outside interests is more important to an editor than advancing the aims of Wikipedia, that editor stands in a conflict of interest."
