Lawson (band)

Lawson are a four-piece pop rock band signed to Polydor Records. Originally from Liverpool, Brighton, Nottingham and Sheffield; Andy Brown, Adam Pitts, Joel Peat and Ryan Fletcher are now based in London.

After months of searching for a singer/songwriter, drummer Adam met Andy and introduced him to bass player Ryan. They agreed to form a band and guitarist Joel was brought in to complete the line up. The band are named after the surgeon who performed a life saving operation on lead singer, Andy. [1]

Lawson have been posting acoustic performances of their original material on YouTube since early 2010. Their song ‘She’ was featured on YouTube’s front page within days of being uploaded.

They have also been playing gigs around the UK, including Wireless Festival[2] and Ultrasound Festival[3] They were a support act for boyband The Wanted on their 2011 UK theatre tour.[4]

On September 8th 2011, it was announced that the band had been signed to Polydor Records. They are currently in the studio recording their debut album. [5]
